Trumpet Call V: Launch of Hope 2008

Plans for a year of non-stop church mission in 2008 will be launched at the World Prayer Centre’s Trumpet Call V on Saturday 21st October at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in the West Midlands.

Hope 2008 aims to unite every church movement and Christian project to deliver a series of major missions centred on community action and outreach in six of the largest cities and 500 smaller towns in the UK.

This activity to spread the Christian message in year includes fun days, prison missions, estate clean ups as well as active participation with the police and local and national government.

Individuals such as Mike Pilavachi of Soul Survivor, Andy Hawthorne of The Message and Roy Crowne from Youth for Christ, are leading the venture. They are renowned for their work with young people and large-scale city missions like Soul in the City held in London and Manchester.

In publicity introducing Hope 2008 they state:” Over the last few years, a fresh model of mission has been emerging both in the UK big urban centre as well as in other towns and villages, where churches have united to share the good news of Jesus in many creative ways. Hope proposes to support this wave of mission by facilitating a year of intensified, united and focused prayer and activities communicating the gospel though word and action.”

Hope 2008 was first announced in May 2006 at Trumpet Call IV which was organised by the Birmingham based World Prayer Centre (WPC).  WPC has successfully coordinated large prayer conferences at the NEC for over three years bringing large numbers of Christians together with representatives from Birmingham City Council and the Criminal Justice System to pray for local, national and international issues.

Recent prayer events have focussed on crime reduction and community safety and served as a platform to present this latest initiative.

Tickets can now be reserved for the launch of Hope 2008 on Saturday 21st October by calling WPC on 0121 633 7393 or via their website www.worldprayer.org.uk
